Grotto Fine Art takes great pleasure in presenting Lucille Lo: The Number Games, the first one-woman exhibition of this well-known Hong Kong artist in ten years. A former traditional Chinese painter, Lo ventured into oil painting in recent years in search of a more personal expression.

In this new body of works, Lucille Lo pays specific attention to the prominence of "numbers" in our society. Lo's heavily textured composition is created by juxtaposition of digits and architectural elements; through which bent metals tubes, shoelaces and other everyday objects became contours of the city's skyline. Another set of Lo's work deals with the issue of words and images. Lo modified the traditional Chinese characters into numerical or alphabetical images, thus generates new visual interpretation of the ancient script.
